First Church Kids Ministry (Birth-Fifth Grade) |
Our First Methodist Church Kids Ministry seeks to offer opportunities for our children to connect with one another and with God, grow in their understanding of their Christian faith, and provide opportunities to serve and disciple among one another and the greater church congregation.
Our Sunday School meets every Sunday from 9:00-9:45 AM and our Nursery is available during 10:00AM worship every Sunday . Our Nursery is available during Sunday School, worship, and church-wide programs and events.
Our volunteer-led Sunday School Ministry offers children’s classes that are God-centered, Bible-based, child-friendly and age-appropriate, helping children learn to apply biblical truths to everyday life.
Drop Off Procedures:
To ensure the safety and comfort of your children, please use the Attendance Sign-in Sheet at the classroom door when dropping off your child. If your child isn’t listed, please fill out a Visitor Information form. Make sure to inform us of any special needs your child may have. For younger children and older children who may be anxious, we ask that you leave your cell phone number with us so we may contact you in worship if needed. Don’t forget to adjust your phone to silent!
REMINDER: Parents MUST stay on church premises while their children are in the care of the church staff and volunteers on Sunday mornings.
Pick Up Procedures:
Please plan to pick up your child promptly after your morning activities. Delays cause anxious and worried children. Unless we have written permission from parents or legal guardians, we will not release children to older siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, other extended family or neighbors. This is to ensure the safety of your children, and we appreciate your cooperation with this policy. If you would like to grant permission for anyone other than parents or guardians to pick-up your children, please see our staff to complete the necessary form.
Food Allergies:
Children in the walkers (1 year & walking) through fifth grade classes receive a snack (cheddar Goldfish crackers) during the Sunday School hour. Please alert our staff if your child has a food allergy.
Illnesses:
We adhere to strict health and hygiene policies for the protection of your children. If your child has been sick, he or she should be free from symptoms 24 hours before attending church. Please keep your child home if there are any signs of the following symptoms: fever, diarrhea, rashes, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, flushed face, ear ache, enlarged glands, productive cough, discharging or pink eye. Should a child develop any of the above symptoms while under our care, we will notify you to pick up your child immediately. Please notify our staff if your child contracts a contagious disease so parents may be notified of possible exposure to their child.
