Welcome!

​We Love Children! At First Church, we are committed to providing safe, fun, and meaningful experiences for children. We offer a variety of Sunday morning options, including Nursery, Sunday School, and Little Church, to help them grow in their faith. 

All of our volunteers have completed thorough background checks and Safe Sanctuary Training, and we take extra care to ensure the safety of your child by following secure check-in and ​check-out procedures for all events. ​

If this is your first time at FMC, we’re excited to welcome you! Please come to the Wesley Building entrance (the big glass doors) and follow the hallway to the Children’s Welcome Desk. We will be there to greet you, answer any questions, and guide you to where you need to go. We look forward to getting to know you and your family. ​

SUNDAY MORNING PROGRAMS

Nursery (Birth - 2 years)
The dedicated, staffed nursery is available for children from birth through 2 years during both Sunday School and Worship. Nursery workers are well-trained, loving caregivers—many of whom are moms themselves—who provide a safe, nurturing environment for our littlest ones. In this space, even at such a young age, children begin to experience the love of Jesus through caring interactions and age-appropriate activities.

​Sunday School (2.5 years - 5th Grade) ​
We offer children’s Sunday School classes for ages 2.5 through 5th grade, where trained and qualified Christian teachers guide them in building a strong foundation of faith based on Jesus. Classes begin at 9:00AM, and attendance is encouraged to help each child grow spiritually.

​Worship & Wiggle Bags
One of the primary ways children learn to worship is by participating alongside the congregation. Through active involvement, they begin to understand God and His people. We welcome children of all ages to the sanctuary for worship where they experience the service with their family. To help them stay engaged, we provide children’s bulletins and wiggle bags at the entrances of both the traditional and contemporary services. These materials are designed to assist children in following along and worshiping during the service in a meaningful way.

​Children's Church (3 years - 2nd Grade)
We invite children ages 3 through 2nd grade to join us for Children's Church, a special time of worship, learning, and fun activities designed just for them! Children begin in the sanctuary with their parents and are then dismissed to Children's Church during the service. This time allows them to explore faith in an engaging, age-appropriate way. At the end of the service, parents can pick up their children in Children's Church, Wesley Building, Lower Level Room #L-4.
